Happy Humpday guys!

I don’t know about you all, but I am selfishly really excited for today because tomorrow we are heading to Mexico! We have been planning this trip with 10 of my closest friends from high school, since like September, so I can’t believe it is finally here!

I’m just ready to get away and be in the beautiful weather. For anyone that lives in Texas,  you’re more than aware that our weather has been extremely bipolar. One weekend it is snowing in areas and a high of 35 and the very next day we are reaching the high 80’s. Like I said, bipolar. Any who, I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was craving the spring time now that the holidays have passed.  Does anybody else feel that way? It’s like, I want it to be cold for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but as soon as those two pass I am ready for patio weather!

Regardless, I know that Texas will definitely throw a few more frigid days our way. Despite when it’s time to put up my coats, one item that I will continue to wear are these distressed jeans. I have been living in this exact pair . They are a little bit pricer, but my goodness are they comfortable and flattering. Definitely true to size. If you would like to spend less, here is much cheaper option

Also, your also going to see below a link to my 2017 Survey. If you guys would please take the time to complete it, it would mean the world! I mean SO much! It’s only 8 questions, will take you less than 3 minutes and is completely anonymous. I did this at the beginning of 2016 as well and it helped me tremendously.

It’s an easy way for me to hear from you guys, as well as help me bring you guys the best content that I can.

You can find the survey link here!

Good Morning!

How was everyone’s weekend? I have to say, ours was pretty good! Friday we went out with a bunch of friends, and had a little bit too much fun, to say the least!! Saturday I finally got my hair done (I go to Iris Studio off of Westheimer, ask for Eddie!) and went to Kirby Ice House to watch a little bit of college football, before heading out to a really sweet date night.  We went the Cru and sat outside because it was just so nice out. We had a few wine flights and ended the evening with the chocolate fondue! Colton and I’s schedules have been a little opposite recently, so I loved getting to spend that one on one time with him.

Sunday, we woke up early, went to shoot a few looks, and had the most amazing brunch at State of Grace (go and get the beignets!). Then I spent about four hours completely organizing my closet before spending the evening at my moms, catching up with her.

All around, it was a really, really nice weekend!

With Christmas coming up, I have really been trying to not impulse buy, but when  I saw this NYC Moto Suede Jacket in person, I literally fell in love. I was at Nordstrom’s with my friend and little sister, helping them shop, with literally zero intention to get anything. I had seen this jacket a few times online, but brushed it off for different reasons. I just didn’t think I needed it, but after seeing it and trying it on, I couldn’t imagine going home without it. Like, I knew I would majorly regret,  not getting it. Especially since it is selling out so fast!  This jacket comes in like 7 colors, but this baby blue one is by far my favorite. It’s just so soft and honestly just feels so luxurious. If you are wanting a hot item to spice up your wardrobe or are looking for an awesome Christmas gift, then this jacket is it!

Promise!

Any who, I kind of wanted to touch base on something. I get a lot of questions as to why I shop at Nordstrom’s as much as I do, as opposed to other stores. With Christmas coming up and since I am in the middle of building my gift guides, I wanted to explain why. First off, I swear & I promise, I do shop at other stores (I actually prefer to shop local) – lol but the truth is, Nordstrom’s is just my favorite.

  1. I live like really close to Nordstrom’s…. so it is super convenient for me.
  2. They restock items (quickly) and as fast as the can. This is a big deal for me when it comes to the blog because it’s the absolute worst when I buy an item to share with you all and it goes out of stock. It’s just a huge let down. I link similar items, but we all know it’s just not the same.
  3. They have all different price points. From extremely affordable high quality pieces, to really expensive luxury items. They really have something for everyone and everyone’s budget.
  4. They have the BEST customer service. They truly bend over backwards to make their customers happy. A long time ago, I had bought Colton a Burberry watch from there and after two years, the watch ended up breaking. When we brought it back to Nordstrom’s to ask about it, with out even the slightest bit of hesitation, they gave us a brand new watch. I mean, they still looked up my account to verify my purchase, but still!
  5. It’s always clean and organized. When I go to a Dillard’s or a Macy’s, I get very over whelmed, very fast. Not Nordstrom’s though. They have a very sleek and clutter-less layout that lets me shop at ease. They also have the most on-trend items.
  6. They carry all of my favorite brands and always have killer sales. I mean, you honestly just can’t beat their sales. Most of my highest quality items have been from Nordstrom’s during their sales. I’m talking my Tory Burch Boots, Manolo Blahniks, winter coats, purses and more.

So there, lol, I hope this cleared up come questions. What is your favorite store to shop at?!

Lauren

Five Ways To Start Your Week Off Right

Good Morning & Happy Monday Love Bugs!

What a weekend! After over a week of not being home and our lives being a little hectic, Colton and I decided to stay in Houston, instead of going to Waco for the Baylor vs TCU and my goodness I’m so glad we didn’t make the drive…… Love you Baylor, but that one hurt.

None-the-less, staying in Houston was definitely the best decision for us. Two of my best friends were in town for just the weekend and another girlfriend just moved super close to me, so I enjoyed spending time with them. Also, it was nice because Colton and I were just able to do our normal stuff. I was able to go to spin, our favorite breakfast place, and just had time to be home. We also slept a lot – ha!

Saturday, I walked over to Nordstrom’s to check out their sale and to do some damage but ended up not getting one thing on sale. I’m good with it though because I did get this top above and it was only $44. I ended up wearing it literally all weekend. It’s light weight and flattering which are both double wins for me!! I’m also loving the bell sleeves.

I’ve gotten a lot of questions on these OTK boots I am wearing and if they are better than the tie ones, and the answer is YES. I have the tie ones in black and these are just so much better. They fit my legs better and I do not have to worry about them falling or constantly tying them. Also, they’re on sale!!!

Any who, I hope you all have a great week! Below are my 5 Tips To Start Your Week Out Right ❤

  1. Have one cup of coffee then switch to tea. This will help you to feel less anxious throughout the day while also giving you a little caffeine fix.
  2. Clean (& declutter) up your desk. Instead of starting your day in a complete and total mess. Organize your desk to help you conquer the upcoming week.
  3. Make it a point to exercise for at least 30 minutes. Seriously so important!! Number one rule, never miss a Monday workout!! If you start your week out, not being motivated, it will be even harder for you to be motivated for the rest of the week.
  4. Write out your to-do list for the week. Making weekly to-do lists is more achievable as opposed to daily to-do lists. This allows you to look at the big picture and really see what you need to accomplish.
  5. Make dinner and eat it at the dinner table. You know… as opposed to Favoring Chipotle and eating it in front of the TV. Having a healthy meal and actually engaging in conversation at the dinner table, instead of binge watching TV will actually help you feel less anxious when dealing with the week to come. It will help to raise your spirit and oddly keep you motivated and positive for the whole week. Promise. I normally don’t mind eating dinner in front of the TV, but Monday’s, Colton and I always eat together at the table.

Happy New Year Everybody!!!

I hope that 2016 has started out great for you guys!:)

We spent New Years in Lake Travis at a friends house and truly had the best time! You know, just ringing in the New Year w/ great friends, a bon fire, and lots of champagne lol! &&& now it’s back to work after many days off!

It’s finally cold in Houston, so I have loved  getting to dress up for the weather. A few weeks ago, I walked into Cake Walk Style Shop, in Houston, and fell absolutely in love with this coat. I ended up not buying it, and instantly regretted it. This coat was constantly on my mind for about a month! So after we got back to Houston from the lake, I rushed to go get it, and I am so happy that I did! The best part is that it was 20% off, along with the rest of everything in the boutique until January 11!

Needless to say, I was pumped!

Also! Below I am going to link a quick 6 question survey for you guys to take. I swear it’s the shortest & easiest survey ever. I’m just looking for a little bit of feedback from you guys, to see what you all want to see more of in 2016! I’ll be tagging it in each post for the next three days!:) It would truly mean the world to me for your guys to take it!

Anywhoooo, I hope you guys have a great first day back to work!

xo,

Lauren
