Hi guys, Happy Wednesday! 

Today I am taking the time to answer one of the main questions you guys have concerning my schedule. 

How I do my blog, go to my day job, have a social life and how I make it all work. The truth is, I don’t make it work  haha but I do try, and having a schedule definitely helps! 

Actually, if I didn’t have my schedule and did not plan ahead, none of this would be possible. Of course life happens, and the schedule gets totally messed up, but I do what I can do to make it work and I always have a back up plan! 

Planning Out My Posts 

I plan out my posts at least one month prior to posting. Towards the end of every month, I look at my calendar and write down everything. From sales, to post ideas, trips and more.   I get my inspiration for my posts literally all day long. Throughout the day, any blog post idea that pops in my head, I put in the notes section of my phone. That way, at the end of the month, when I sit down to plan out the next months schedule, I have material to post for you guys. Writing everything down at least a month in advanced lets me know what I need to shoot, who I need to talk to, what collaborations I need to finalize and etc. 

Photo Shoots 

When we shoot, we aim to do it early Sunday morning before the rest of the world is wakes up. I like to shoot around the Galleria and Highland Village, and early Sunday morning is the prime time to not have a lot of people in those locations. Plus it is so much cooler at that time! Of course, there are times we can’t do this due to rain, or being out of town, or Colton golfing. So when that is the case, we will shoot after work! Which is a huge pain, but hey, you do what you have to do. 

Editing Pictures

I usually edit pictures Sunday night after we shoot, or in the evening right when I get home from work. Since I workout at lunch, Colton works out in the afternoons without me, which gives me time to work on the blog. For editing pictures, I use Photoshop. But let me tell you, I am such an amateur! The most I can do is play with the lighting and take the “yellow” out of a photo. 

Writing Posts 

Literally the hardest part. Well, actually, I take that back, I love writing posts. It’s my favorite part. It just depends on what I am writing. Sometimes, I have so much to say and the words are flowing out of me! Other times, I have major writers block and it will take me forever. Because I do have my posts planned out a month before, if something comes in my head that I know I want to say in a post, I’ll go ahead and write it down immediately. Other than that, I usually write at night, right before going to bed. Each post takes me about an hour to write. Then I wake up at 6:00 a.m. every morning to finalize posts. I link my outfits, try my best to look for errors, change sentences I do not like and etc. Then 7:00 a.m. hits and I freak out about having to get ready for work – lol, so I usually post everyday around that time. 

Social Media

As soon as I hit “post”, my post is automatically uploaded onto Facebook and Twitter. I try to plan out my Instagram’s Monday night while watching The Bachelor. I use the app Planogram for this. Then I post my pictures when it’s the best time of the day for me. My best times are usually early in the morning when people are just getting to work, during lunch, and after dinner time. These are the times most people are on their phones and my phone notifies me when it’s time! When it comes to interacting with readers on Instagram, I try to do this while walking up hill on the Treadmill after my workouts. #multitasking 

So there you go, just a little sneak peak into my crazy, hectic life. It may sound like a lot, but that’s because it is a lot. I believe that if you really love something, you’ll make time for it. It’s up to you to make it a priority!

Hello Monday, why you always come so fast!

As Colton and I sat at dinner last night, we couldn’t help but reminisce on how great of a weekend we had. I went to spin, he golfed, I shopped, we went out with Baylor friends, as well as high school friends, we tried new restaurants, as well as visited older favorites. We cleaned, we organized, and we rested. It was the perfect amount of everything! 

Although as perfect as this weekend might had felt, lets getting something clear, I am not perfect – lol. 

I do not have a morning routine, I do not fully rest and prepare for my work week on Sunday’s, and I do not give every person in my life the attention they deserve. I also procrastinate when taking Bentley out in the mornings, but that’s a different story. 

So, due to my flaws, instead of telling you guys how great my daily routine is, I wanted to take the time to tell you all what I need work on. The things I am (currently) noticing I am doing wrong and are trying to work on!

If you have any suggestions on the following, please feel free to help a sister out! 

5 Habits I Need To Stop ASAP

  1. Reading emails when I am in no position to respond. One of my biggest problems, is that I’ll read an email when I am not able to respond. I will read an email while out & about, doing my daily life, and then completely forget to respond. This has cost me way to many opportunities, as well as makes me look inconsiderate. I have every intention to respond, it’s just that I forget…and that makes me look bad.
  2. Looking at social media before I go to bed, as well as right when I wake up. This is one of the habits I hate the most. Not only is it a horrible habit for my mind, but it also negatively shows me just how obsessed with social media I can be. 
  3. Reading texts messages when driving, or doing anything with my phone with driving for that matter. I know that this is terrible, but I have been catching myself doing this more than ever lately. Especially during intersections or traffic. Even though I am not technically driving, I’m also not 100% paying attention to the wheel. 
  4. Not relaxing on Sunday’s. Recently, I have felt like I have been treating Sunday’s as if they were Friday or Saturday night. Going all out or having a Sunday Funday if you need be. This leaves me exhausted and not even the least bit ready for the week to come.  Recently, come Monday morning, I have been more tired than usual, and this is all due to how I spend my Sunday’s. I really want to work on this one. 
  5. I press the snooze button every morning. At one point, post college, I was up every morning at 5:30 a.m., ready to conquer the day. But recently? Pressing the snoozer has been apart of my daily routine. Doing this, sets me back for the work day,as well as keeps me in a sleepy state all day long, as opposed to waking up energized. Pressing the snooze button confuses your body, never allowing it to wake up. So I desperately need to work on this! 

So there you have it, my 5 Habits I Am Trying To Break ASAP!

It’s honestly so crazy to me just how much can happen in one month.

In one month. How much can change and how it can just fly by so fast.

From starting the month in Rome, then going to Florence, Marseille and Barcelona it seriously started out to the best start. I mean NO COMPLAINTS HERE. We’re already day dreaming of our trip back – ha!

But I’m not going to lie, being home has been nice.

Coming back home was very bitter sweet. Even though we were having literally the time of our lives while away, I was like really, really anxious to get home. I was anxious to see my family and my friends and get back to our lives. I was anxious to celebrate our big news.

Which is probably why I wanted to throw such a big party as soon as I got back.

Literally the moment we got back, we started planning. You would have thought we were planning the wedding the way we went about it! From catering, to a band, a location, and even picking out linens I was way in over my head. So thank goodness for the vast amount of support I had.

But once the party day finally hit and all of our day of drama was behind us (I’ll tell you more about that next week!) it was seriously the best party! I mean, I couldn’t have asked for a better evening. 

I kept joking that I didn’t even need a wedding! That this was all I needed and that were ready to elope!! Just kidding……kind of 😉

But now that it’s all over, I feel like I can finally start getting back into my blogging. I know that I have still been consistently posting, but I have felt like my mind has been elsewhere. 

Like it was so much fun to go to the Sugar & Cloth even and catch up with Kailey & Dede. I had been back for two weeks and hadn’t been to one event! So I was thankful for this. 

Any who, we will see where July takes me! Hopefully I’ll be able to scratch off something on my wish list.

Watermelon Margarita Popsicles? 

Yep, that is right! If you saw yesterdays post, then you saw Bentley and I were loving our slices of watermelon. But when you have a whole watermelon and only two people + a dog, there is only so much watermelon you can have! So when deciding what to do with the rest, making these boozy watermelon inspired popsicles were at the top of my list. 

I love the idea of the popsicles because they are so much fun and made me feel like a little kid again, sitting by the pool, having a cold popsicle on a hot Texas day. These popsicles are surprisingly strong and naturally sweet too! 

So if you’re having a big get together this weekend for the 4th, then these popsicles would be such a fun addition! I swear, they will be a huge hit! 

Ingredients

4 Cups cubed watermelon

1/2 Cup high grade tequila

Juice of 2 limes

1/3 Cup mint leaves

2-3  TBSP Organic Maple Syrup 

Directions

Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until it makes a slush-like consistency.

Pour mixture into Ice Pop Molds until completely full. 

Place tops on Ice Pop Molds and place in freezer. 

Freeze for 8 hours or until completely frozen.
