As I look back on all of these pictures and I wish I could tell you them story behind them, but I will have to save it for another time lol. This is a look I wore Saturday evening, while in Napa, before heading to our hotels happy hour. Which let me add, is the cutest thing ever. The happy hour is outside, on a patio, surrounded by vineyards. It’s literally just so relaxing. Since I knew it was outside,  I wanted to make sure I was warm and comfortable. It can get pretty cold there at night, but this blanket scarf kept me so warm!

Blanket scarves are perfect for this time of year (especially in Texas) because the weather is weird. The mornings are cold, by mid day it’s hot, and the nighttime is pretty chilly, so with a blanket scarf, it is easy to layer and isn’t as heavy as a jacket. I love this one  I am wearing because it is just a little bit heavier than your average scarf.

Unlike Texas, Napa is a lot colder, which is why I paired my blanket scarf with a turtleneck! I want to note that this cashmere turtleneck is a steal. Most camel cashmere turtlenecks, can run over $300, but Last Call By Neiman Marcus has this one for only $120 (on sale right now for $75) which is amazing. It’s a staple that will be in your closet for years to come. I can’t even tell you how many times I wore mine last year.

Last night, we celebrated Hannah’s Birthday (she turned 15!) so I am super exhausted today. Being mom for a week, to a 15 year old, is hard work ya’ll – lol but I would be lying if I said I wasn’t enjoying spending so much time with her. Colton and I took her to La Table with a few friends and had such a fun evening!

Any who, have a great rest of your day! I have news I need to share with you all but I am going to save it for next week I think.

Wait, one more thing!!! Nordstrom’s is having their Fall Clearance Sale right now and it’s killer. Like, I think all of the items that are on sale are way better than the ones from their Anniversary sale… I mean a log of Burberry, Tory Burch and more.

Fall Looks & Giving Thanks

Good Morning!

I don’t know about you guys, but today definitely feels more like a Monday to me. Sunday night, our flight coming home from San Francisco, was super delayed, so we didn’t make it to the apartment until almost 3:00 a.m. So to say we were exhausted yesterday, would be the understatement of the century!! I’m literally feeling a million times better today though. It’s a new day and the first day of the new month. I have high hopes for November!

Over the weekend, Colton and I really talked a lot about what we are thankful for and the way we view certain aspects of our lives. I think with all of the social media we are exposed too, it leaves us at times, not feeling complete in our own lives. It’s easy to look at others and somewhat play the comparison game. I’m guilty of this. I’m guilty of looking at others and thinking I am not enough or the way others are living their lives, is better than the way I am living mine.

The thing is though, if you live your life that way, you will never be complete. It’s so easy to get so caught up in focusing on what you don’t have, instead of focusing on what you do have. Which is sad, because everyone has something amazing in their life to be thankful for.In some way, we are blessed every single day.

Which is why I am really going to focus on giving thanks and truly being appreciative for the whole month of November and not just on Thanksgiving. To really focus on counting my blessings and not my problems. My plan is, that by focusing on what I am thankful for, for the whole month, that it will help me to transition into how I will view things for the rest of the year.

Any who, you can thank all of the wine from this past weekend, for today’s life talk -lol!

Now really fast,  I want to talk about this Popcorn French Connection Sweater. Ya’ll, the best sweater ever. The moment I saw how cold it was going to be in Napa, I knew I was bringing this baby along with me. For being an over sized sweater, it is actually very flattering and the popcorn texture really makes it different. I paired it with these camel colored OTK boots to really give the whole look that fall feel! Now if only Texas could start to feel a little bit more like fall…..Hopefully November will bring it to us!

Tomorrow I will be sharing a few ways to give thanks throughout the whole month of November, along with things I have done in the past!

If there is one holiday I loved the most while in college, it was without a doubt, Halloween. I would put a lot of detail into throwing the perfect Halloween party, and spend months planning out my Halloween costume. My favorite tradition of them all though, was going to the pumpkin patch, before carving pumpkins.

I think I have mentioned this to you all before but I can’t remember…. so I’ll just continue like I haven’t told ya’ll.

The Thursday before Halloween, my roommates and I would go to the closest pumpkin patch, take pictures with all of our pups and pick out the perfect pumpkin for carving. We would bring them back home, invite all of our closest friends over and have a huge pumpkin carving party. We would drink beer, play music, order pizza and just have the best evening. For some reason it is one of my favorite memories and most cherished times. It’s crazy that a bunch of  college kids would have so much fun carving pumpkins – ha!

Anyways, lets just say my love for carving pumpkins and Halloween runs strong haha. Sadly, for the past two years, Colton and I have been out of town on actual Halloween (Last year we were in Hamilton, NY) but one tradition we have kept on, is going to the pumpkin patch and carving pumpkins. This year, it was a bit more relaxed event, taken place in my living room watching Hocus Pocus – lol. Which is still the perfect night for me!

Hopefully next year, Colton and I will be in a bigger home and will be able to have everyone over for a full night of pumpkin carving just like we used to!

Right now, Houston is in that weird time where it is super chilly in the mornings & evenings, yet is pretty warm during the day. Since we went to pick out pumpkins towards the evening, this sweater was super acceptable as the temperatures were dropping quickly!

My favorite thing about this sweater is the fact that it is high in front and longer in the back. I also love that it is a turtleneck, it’s truly unique! Also, a little birdie told me it is selling out super fast, so just a heads up!

Have a great Wednesday!
