Hi guys, I hope you all had a great weekend! Our first weekend back was really nice. A little crazy & hectic, but nice! Basically, we didn’t stop lol but that’s just because we were so excited to be home and wanted to see everybody.
Originally, I wasn’t planning on posting this dress, because the entire world has blogged about it. But then I thought I might as well go ahead and rant over it too, because, well, it’s that good. Plus, maybe I just want to talk to you all a little bit.
I kind of think of this dress like the pair of jeans on The Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants, but in the form of a dress. I have seen it on so many girls, with so many different kinds of body types and it looks perfect on every single one.
It’s the kind of dress that you put on and just feel beautiful in.
I wore it to a blogger event before the trip and then as well as in France, where I shot it. I paired it with these earrings, because like the dress, they make you instantly feel beautiful. My only complaint with them is that they are heavy.
In other news, I am having a hard time getting into all of the wedding planning stuff. Like, I truly just have no idea where to start. Which is nice, since Colton and I did promise we weren’t going to start planning for a month, but everywhere I go, people want to know if we’ve set a date, have we picked a theme, how many people do we want. I’ve even been asked about linens! And I am over here like…. guys…. can I just breath a second? I just want to enjoy this with Colton without the stress! I just want to hug him and not even think about the wedding planning to come. I know that sounds terrible, but it’s only because I get overwhelmed very, very easily. Does anybody else feel that way? Especially anyone who has recently got engaged. Were you all as scared as I am to plan a wedding?

We are so happy for you and Colton! Planning a wedding should be a fun experience. I am blessed to have two wonderful mothers that helped me create our vision. I am a great planner, but I was blessed to have my moms guide me and help me create the most beautiful beach wedding. We are a low key couple and wanted our wedding to reflect that (I hope you enjoyed being at our wedding 😘). My only advice is make your wedding based on you and Colton. We’ve had so many friends and family that weren’t as happy with their wedding and we don’t regret anything! Your wedding should be one of the happiest days of your lives. There are too many that are bridezillas and it ruins the memories. A wedding is one day, but a marriage is a lifetime. The hubby and I have been together 16 1/2 years and married for almost 11. I still am thankful everyday that I married my best friend and how family and friends still talk about our wedding that ended up being a relaxing vacation for all!

My best friend got married last summer and we were all fresh out of college then, so we had no idea how to plan a wedding either! My best advice is to get a wedding planner. My bff’s wedding planner was SO helpful, and thought of all these little details that we wouldn’t have even thought about! But I also learned it’s important to find the best wedding planner for you! Think about what you want the style of your wedding to be- whether it’s rustic chic, elegant and formal, or a casual event, and then look up different wedding planners and the events they have planned to see what their own personal style is, and find one that seems to match yours! Wedding planners are a gift sent straight from God, so I would at least give it a try! Good luck! Don’t stress out about it yet, just enjoy your engagement and ignore everyone else!
