Hey guys! I hope you all had a great weekend and a great Mother’s Day!:)

Today, I wanted to talk to you guys about social media. Recently, I have received a lot of negativity from peers and family members concerning my social media. While it truly hurts, I’ve refused to let it get to me. Instead, it’s almost like it has reassured me as to why I started blogging in the first place. You guys are my main priority and I want  you guys to understand how I post, and why I post on social media. Social media is my form of Advertisement. Just like you see a CocoCola ad on a billboard or a commercial on TV, I post on Social Media. Majority of it is planned, and I strategize how I post to a tee.

I try to use each social platform in a different way. They each serve a different purpose but the end goal is to bring traffic to my site. But what I need you guys to understand, is that for me to reach you guys and reach new readers, social media is a necessity. I am not posting to say “look at me, look at me” but instead posting to build the brand of the blog that I put my heart and soul into.

So if you’re deciding what you want to follow me on, what you want to see less of, or what you want to see more of, then this is a great post for you! It’s basically a breakdown of how I use social media and what you guys can expect from each one.

Instagram: When you look at my Instagram profile, my first nine pictures should tell a story. Within the first 15 seconds, you should be able to tell what you will find on my blog. While I do mention fitness and healthy eating, my Instagram is geared more towards fashion and lifestyle. I mainly use Instagram to attract new followers to my blog. It’s a great tool that allows me to tell my readers what they will find on my site, when my favorite clothing items go on sale, places around Houston and daily motivation. Another great thing about my Instagram is that I do have Liketoknow.it., which makes my Instagram shopable. You can learn more about it here. I

Snapchat: Snapchat is my favorite & newest social media platform and I am loving it. While it’s taking me a little bit to get used to – aka talking into the phone (so weird) I am getting the hang of it. I love Snapchat because it is so raw & real. I can talk to you guys, ask questions, tell you about my day & etc. I like to show you my workouts, talk about them and motivate you all.  If you’re more interested in my fitness regime, then Snapchat is the platform you want to follow. Just FYI though, you will see a lot of snaps of my dog, Bentley.

Facebook: I use Facebook to primarily advertise a new blog post. Whenever I post on LifetoLauren, it’s automatically loaded onto Facebook. I also use FB to support fellow bloggers by sharing their platforms. It’s not my favorite, but it’s truly a great way to connect and get my blog out there.

Twitter: I will be honest, I am SO BAD at twitter. I try, I really do, but at the end of the day, I forget about it. I post here and there, but it’s definitely not my main platform.

Youtube: In the works! I literally have one video haha but I am in the process of bringing more to you guys! Hair tutorials!? Yep-coming to a blog near you!

So that’s my breakdown! I hope this gave you guys a little insight. If you are reading this, and follow me on any of them, THANK YOU! You guys literally mean the world to me and your support just makes me so grateful.

  1. As someone who is in the technology field, I love the way you use social media responsibly. I look forward to your posts everyday! Love you Lauren!

  2. I really loved this post, Lauren! I’ll never understand why some people are so negative and mean when other people are successful. Your blog is the only one that I read on a daily basis, so keep doing what you’re doing!

  3. Hi Lauren,

Came across this blog and really like it! Very refreshing and hits right home. Social media sharing is part of the blogging life (very fun though!) and helps build our brand. Your Instagram feed is amazing too! 🙂 Keep it up!
